Train Attendant
At about 7p EDT yesterday the northbound Crescent, which had been running about 30 behind schedule, struck and killed a pedestrian about an hour west of Atlanta. The accident occurred in a rural stretch of track on a relatively high earthen embankment. The train was delayed about two hours while the body was removed and the preliminary investigation begun. As of the time that we departed there was no information regarding how the individual came to be on the tracks. An investigation by local authorities and the NSPD is continuing.
