We complain about trains that run three times a week. Such are not very uncommon in the Indian subcontinent, specially for luxury trains.
However, there is one lowly train which is scheduled to run only twice a month and seems to be doing well. Although one must add that it is probably not a great idea for anyone who does not look quite South Asian to try to brave it.
The train is Quetta - Zahedan Passenger which runs from Quetta, which is the rail head for Spin Boldak border with Afghanistan, to Zahedan in Iran, crossing the border west of Kohi-Taftan at a station called Border Pillar! In proper Amtrak style, there are 1.5 hour stops both at Kohi Taftan and Border Pillar. Also curiously, this train apparently operates on Pakistan time in Iran!

BTW, there is now through Container service with transhipment from Standard to Broad Gauge at Zahedan.
