On a recent thread, The Traveler mentioned that he received AGR points for travel on 11/5. On the otherhand, I am still waiting and wondering if my travel on 10/26 will ever post to my AGR account. My travel that day was in the morning hours when there was a nationwide ticket printing problem. Passengers on my train (including myself) were allowed to board the train without a ticket. I presented my printed reservation page which showed my itinerary. The conductor reviewed it and kept it for his records.

With this is mind, has anyone on this forum traveled on 10/26 under this same sceanrio and received their AGR points yet? I might add that I did discuss this matter with an AGR representative without any closure.

I traveled on the Pennsylvanian 10/26 and my pts. posted on 10/31. I also traveled on the TE on 10/23 but the pts. didn't post until 11/4.

Without an actual ticket having been issued and collected, I rather doubt that any points will post automatically. That still doesn't change the fact that you can't report the missing points until the required time has run its course. But I'm betting that you'll have to call to get the points, and even then it may be a fight to actually get them.

Thanks Alan for your input on this unusual circumstance. I feel the same way as you that the points will not post and the matter will have to be rectified by AGR. Before posting the original question, AGR was contacted and the representative informed me that a Missing Point Request would have to be made three weeks after the travel was performed. I pointed out that the request requires a ticket issue date and number. Neither of this information could be provided since a ticket was not issued. The representative stood pat at the three week rule and would not proceed with providing me my points. I agree with you Alan that it will be a fight to get the points and it is a fight I do not plan on losing! I will let you all know what transpires.

I didn't travel that day, but they do say to allow 2-3 weeks for posting. It only been a week, so I'd say give it a little longer.
I'm actually a little surprised my 10/31 trips posted so soon!
Sorry Traveler for getting the date wrong. I usually get my AGR points posted in a five to seven day time frame. That is why I called AGR today about my missing points on the 10/26 travel date when I saw your Downeaster trip posting. I did not like the AGR party line answer of waiting three weeks for my points to post considering the circumstances of this trip as previously posted. Waiting this full time period is a waste of time in my opinion.

Call back and see if someone else gives you a different answer.

UPDATE: Well my points for this trip finally posted. Actually the ordeal was not that bad. I called AGR a second time after waiting three weeks from the date of the 10/26 trip. Had to speak to a supervisor who contacted someone from Amtrak for assistance. The AGR supervisor explained that the reservation was still considered active and still in the ticketing system. I was able to print the ticket from a Quik Trak machine in WAS and then sent it to Minneapolis for processing. It took nine business day from the time the tickets were mailed to AGR to the time the points were posted. It was a pleasant ending!
