Bad News!Good News!!!

After much mailing/e-mailing/phoning etc. finally was able to raise someone @AGR who could speak/understand English(per AlanB its in Quebec)!

A supervisor informed me via a personal call back that they were not allowing my Rail Pass points to post that I purchased in June for July travel because it was not a 30 Day Pass(it was 15 day/8segment)!All the points for the upgrades tp sleeper and the bonus points posted already so its another one of those mysteries that seems to plauge AGR/Amtrak!The pass was for 2/it cost us $778,was paid for with the AGR MC so I dont understand this one for sure!(I know I can only get credit for one!)

Will call back after the Labor day Holiday since its observed more in canada than here!

The good news is that they didnt deduct any points from my total which is fast approaching Select Status!!! :)

That explanation doesn't make any sense at all!

It is for Amtrak travel, so why should it not count? Yes, it is for 8 segments, and you can do it in 2 or 3 days! But I can go from KIN to PVD, be on the train for about 20 minutes - and still earn 100 points. So why can't the 15 day pass earn points? A 10-ticket commuter book earns points for the purchase, so why not this?

I know you would only earn points for the purchase of the pass (not for each segment), but still?

I guess better Quebec than some of the overseas call centers used by credit card companies.

I agree with the_traveler, all travel on Amtrak is supposed to earn points. It shouldn't matter if its a 15 day pass or a 30 day pass.

Yeah, guess Im caught in the AGR two-step,a never ending loop of call/e-mail/fa/snail-mail/supervisor/ask 5/get 5 different answers etc. Ill keep it up,maybe if I call up and say this is the traveler Ill get immediate credit for 10,000 points!

Last year, I had trouble with my rail pass as well (getting AGR points). Anyway, it took 2 months, but once I found someone who know what a rail pass was (I'm not joking), it got taken care of.

You should most definitley get points for your rail pass - $2 per dollar spent, but only for the purchaser, not the other traveler.

See - mentioning the_traveler's name gets the axle rolling! :p I'll expect my 30% commission!
I'm still waiting for my 2 million points to post. (Nobody else registered for 8/20 - right? :D )
Heck, I'm still waiting for my 8/20 miles to post, not to mention my share of the 2MM miles. I'll wait until 9/10 (three weeks from travel) and then fill out the missing milage form.

Congratulations! Same thing for me. Eventually somebody (who spoke English) figured it all out and credited me.

You were on the train so much in August must have missed the announcement that the 8/20 Bonus points would only apply to those riding trains not involving connections to/from PDX to anywhere!!
