Does anyone know which trains between Seattle and Portland are the Talgo?
As of right now, only one Talgo set is in service, and is currently running 503/508 every day. Once the other Talgo set gets repaired and is back in service, then both 503/508 and 505/500 will likely be the trains running with Talgos....until a daily train resumes running to Canada. That train is expected to be Talgo, and I'm honestly not sure what the other one will be, at this time

Copy and pasted @Triley's answer (which is accurate)

Indeed.

So currently, that’s the 7:25am train south to Portland, and 7:20pm north to Seattle.

Reviving this old thread. Anyone know if this still holds true? Talgo on the morning SEA-PDX trip and evening on return? Do they still check in and assign seats prior to boarding in Seattle? Thank you.
I rode 503 on 8/6 and can confirm that the Talgo set is on morning 503 SEA-EUG/evening 508 EUG-SEA pair. I got on in Tacoma, so can't speak for Seattle boarding. On the return on 14, though, they scanned tickets onboard. They used to scan prior to boarding at Portland just like Seattle. Since the crews work between Seattle and Portland, my guess is they aren't doing that in either place now if they aren't doing it in Portland.
