Well, we have been plotting a trip to Myrtle Beach SC for late May for our niece's wedding. :)

A nice one zone trip from CLE to CHS seems to be available but have heard some "horror stories" about the CHS station area and wondering if getting a rental car easily (at the 5am arrival time) and departing at 9:30pm, are doable or will it be a lot of hassle. :help:

Have also considered Florence SC but that would also be a very late/early arrival and departure and perhaps fewer options for rental cars.

Anyone taken this trip to Charleston and arranged a rental car that could add a positive note to this story.??

Otherwise, I guess we will need to drive (oh, the horror of that :giggle: )

Any advice is certainly appreciated.

The nearest rental car offices at both FLO & CHS are at the airports. CHS airport rental car offices are advertised as being open 24 hours, while the rental car offices at FLO close around 7pm-8pm.

The Amtrak station at CHS is definitely NOT in a walking neighborhood; the FLO station is downtown. In either case, I'd recommend taking a cab to the airport.

It's a much easier drive from FLO to MYR (a little over an hour) than CHS to MYR (almost two hours).

Hope this helps; enjoy your trip!
