Well, after spending 7 months in Arizona my parents decided they DO NOT want to buy a house here and that they miss the East Coast (Rhode Island) where we are from. So, we're moving back in mid-September after we get back from a summer trip to Europe. It took some convincing, but I managed to get them to agree to go for Amtrak over flying. We booked the tickets already too!

FLG-CHI-WAS (Southwest Chief & Capitol Limited) - 2 Roomettes for each train

WAS-PVD (Acela Express)

We're spending two nights in the D.C. area to visit family and then taking the Acela Express home to Providence. I've ridden on the SWC and LSL previously so I'm familiar with how the SWC is, what is service on the Capitol Limited like? Any good sights along the way? Anything to be aware of on this leg of the trip? Also, it will be my first trip on Acela so I'm looking forward to that VERY much!

It'll be nice to live in PVD again. It's funny that I never took Amtrak until we moved out here to AZ so moving back will be awesome! I'm going crazy thinking of all the cool day trips I can take on the train from PVD!

I'm not quite sure I understand this thought, but...

(I'm a West Coast boy...though I have toyed with the idea of possibly someday moving to Boston...I love that town...)
