Something involving the Cardinal and Adirondack? But does the Adirondack even have sleepers?

The Adirondack does not have sleepers.

The only 'loophole' I know of is from Eastern Michigan (Detroit, Port Huron) to anyplace east via Chicago. That could include the Adirondack, but I'm not sure about the Cardinal.

EDIT: I just checked and it seems you can't get to the Adirondack because the connections are too late. However, you can get to Washington, NYP, and Boston (and all points in between there and Chicago. There is even a routing for Port Huron to Chicago (Wolverine) to Pittsburgh (Capital Limited) to Philadelphia (Pennsylvanian) to Boston (NE Regional). That's a long day! Somebody correct me if I am wrong about the Adirondack.

You should be able to book Montreal-Port Huron, but Amtrak.com won't allow me. Montreal-Chicago works fine, as does Schenectady-Port Huron, but I can't get the whole route.

A central-zone loophole that is mostly in the eastern zone is Atlanta-Chicago.
