Saw a posting on Amtrak's Job Posting site for a PT Sales Agent! My lifelong dream has been to work for Amtrak! :) When I saw that position I figured I apply and see where I get. Hopefully within the next few days I'll be able to head down to HR in PHL and show them what I got! If I get the job hopefully I'll be selling tickets to some of the AU members! Hopefully my lifelong dream is realized soon! :D

Good Luck Steve!

But you won't be selling to me! Unless you work for AGR!

When you're hired get me Julie's phone number, she sounds hot!!!
Maybe, but I get the impression that she's kind of a control freak.

Now that's funny!!!   Looks like poor Tom met his match!!! Reminds me of the scene in <apology in advance> "Airplane!":

"Don't tell me which zone is for stopping and which zone is for loading!"

"Listen, Betty, don't start up with your white zone &^*$ again!"

I think Julie ran of with Preston, anyway. Remember Preston, the annoying little man that Amtrak had to help people through Amtrak's website a few years ago???

I imagine it's very boring being a ticket agent at a non-major station that sees one or two roundtrip trains a day.

This would be at the Reservation Center In the Philadelphia area. It used to be about 10 minutes from where I live in Lafayette Hill. The Center was located in Fort Washington, PA. I believe it's now located in Bensalem. Not sure maybe someone knows.

Well I went to PHL today to talk to someone from HR and the person at the Customer Service desk said that HR is moving. BUT! He did give me a phone number! I plan on giving them a call on Monday!

Not so...the agent in Hammond, LA stays busy tring to get pax res far into the future. People come from miles around just to purchase tix from him. NOL pax even drive to Hammond (about an hour away) because of his good, efficient and reiable service. The job is what you make of it. His two trains run about an hour and a half apart and you'd never know it~ his phone never stops ringing and it is rare that someone is not at this window ready to buy res that he has made for them!I wouldn't buy a ticket from anyone else but then Dave never buys tix he just AGR's his way on board...

Sounds like the Agents in Austin also! Friendly, professional, helpful and only two Trains a day, one in the morning and one in the Evening! They should let these guys train the CHI Amtrak hands who leave alot to be desired in every department! :help:
