Today's Real Estatesman had front page story on the firing of Veolia and Hiring of Herzog Transportation. Herzog will only manage the passenger part of the rail, another company was contracted to do the freight (Watco is the company, supposedly they run 21 freight lines in 18 states!)
Herzog Transportation operates the rail in Albuquerque/Oceanside and Stockton, Ca. in addition to TRE in the MetroPlex. The contract for the passenger line is for $61 million for 5 years, the freight contract is $33,9 million for 5 years also and Veolia will have to work out a settlement which includes lawyers so will be pricey!
In aninteresting side bar Veolia will continue to operate a large portion of CapMetro bus service which is most interesting!![Roll Eyes  ](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
