My daughter wants to visit Johns Hopkins in a few weeks and though I can certainly take I-95 down, I would prefer to take the train from WIL. (I need to look up the "companion rides 1/2 price w/student visiting colleges")

Most likely will go down on a Friday.

I'm hoping JH will let us use the shuttle they have, but in case not, any recommendations how to get from/to Penn Station (or maybe BWI?)?

Thanks!!

It looks like it is not that far from Baltimore Penn, so I wouldn't do the BWI stop unless they provide a shuttle from there. I can't imagine a taxi would cost that much for such a short distance, but locals may be able to give you better advice.

You could take the Charm City Circulator, but they are two different routes which would require a transfer, but it is a nice, free way to get around Baltimore. you can google it for more information.

Are you looking to go to the hospital or the main campus?

Which, I believe, is across the street from the hospital??

Oh, I googled it. And didn't like what I saw :( (since UPenn is right up the street from 30th street station :p ). Of course, UD is even easier (about a 10 minute drive from our house) :) .

Yes it is across the street. It's also only a block or two from the Johns Hopkins Hospital Metro station. You could take the Light Rail (stops on track 1 at Penn Station) to Lexington Market station and then transfer to the Metro.

Once you disembark from your train at Penn Station, go upstairs. Walk toward the information booth, and once you pass it, there will be a hallway to the right. From that hallway, there's staircase labeled "To Light Rail". Go downstairs and buy a ticket ($1.60, I think). Board the Light Rail (there's only one track, and all trains go the same direction (toward Downtown). Exit at Lexington Market (the 4th stop, I think). The Metro entrance is about a half-block away. Go downstairs, and use your ticket to enter the faregate. Continue down to the platform. Once there, board a train going to "Johns Hopkins Hospital".

Thanks for the directions (obviously Google Maps is not as precise - not that I expect it to be that precise).

Now, who wants to pay for my daughter's education (nursing or pre-med)?? :help: She should be able to get some scholarships as she's a straight A student (though at a vo-tech school where the academics may not be as "strong" as regular public schools in our area).
