Caltrans settles claims of unconstitutional homeless ‘sweeps’

This could have implications elsewhere with both state and privately owned ROW's. I see a lot of homeless camp activity along my daily Metrolink (So. Calif) commute.

In a deal with statewide implications, Caltrans has agreed to pay $5.5 million to settle claims that the agency illegally destroyed the property of homeless residents camped on its land.

Paid out $5 million. 1.3 million went to the homeless, $3.5 million went to the Lawyers and the remaining got lost in the shuffle. Hmm.
