Yesterday, I rode NER 67 down to Washington, and as we were approaching New Carrolton, the conductor announced that the train was terminating there, instead of the normal Newport News. Sure enough, when I got into the station, I saw that 67 south of Washington was shown as CANCELED to Newport News. That evening, I rode home on NER 188. At the station, the monitors were showing that the Palmetto (90) north from Savannah was canceled, as well as NER 85 south to Richmond. Interestingly enough, when I arrived a Baltimore, the board showed the Palmetto as arriving 1 minute late. (9:16 PM instead of 9:15 PM.) It also showed the train as coming from Savannah.

I sthere something going on south of Washington to cause these seemingly random cancerllations?

As reported on another thread, during some trackwork in or around Richmond, some (but not all) routes south of Washington will be cancelled. Also, the Crescent will be terminated at WAS, due to the NYP track work.

The curfew has ended. The cancelled trains will resume service and 94 reverts back to its normal time. There may be some residual delays though.
