I am taking a round trip to Milwaukee today. I noticed a couple of interesting things.

1. If you have select plus or executive you now must have a ticket for travel that day to use the lounge.

2. There are people being trained. I saw a group of people being walked through the lounge by two men with Amtrak to IDS. The men were explaining the purpose of the Metropolitan lounge.

The old metropolitan lounge is being used for 21/421.

I believe the same-day ticket requirement for Select Plus or Select Executive lounge access is at all lounges. Interesting the old lounge is being used for 21/421. Is that for all passengers or only those that already have lounge access?

Also, would you mind changing the title to reflect that it's Chicago Union Station, not any of the other Union Stations? 😄

I believe the "same-day ticket requirement" has been in the fine print for a couple of years or more.

Did you happen to catch if the Hiawatha was running with four coaches? And were you on the same train set both directions?

There have been a higher number of sold out trips this week (especially Tuesday though I think at least one or two each direction have maxed all week) and I'm hoping they didn't have to drop to three coaches for some reason. Really hoping they are able to bump it back up to six coaches reasonably soon, but capacity seems short in many directions. :-/

I did not count the total coaches. I walked past the engine, one car, and then boarded at the far end of the second car. I’m thinking there was at least 5 cars probably 6 on both trains.
