I usually travel out of the Orlando Amtrak station when going to or from Florida, but would like to know about the safety/cleanliness of the Kissimmee Station.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I find it safe. In fact, the area around the station, in my opinion, is nicer than the area around the Orlando station. It is a nice walk to Lake Toho from the station. The Orlando station is nicer inside.

Kissimmee is my station, being closest to my home. It has safe long term free parking and the area is quite safe. It is close to downtown thus making a bunch of reasonable eateries quite accessible by foot, and even more by car.

The station building is small an the interior could do with an upgrade, which may be on the way as part of the extension of SunRail to Kissimmee and Poinciana as part of its Phase IIA extension, which is currently under construction.

The Sun rail expansion of Kissimmee has a plan somewhere. That may be like the Winter Park upgrade for Sun Rail.

Last time there was just a single track station with a stub end siding to a defunct plant. Will become 2 MT but have no idea how it will be laid out.

There is a pictorial of the new station that cannot link. However go to

www.sunrail.com

Sun Rail, improvements and the station will give you a good idea/
