I see where Amtrak and NS were about to have a twitter war over delays caused by NS. Where are the delays the worst?

Birmingham to Atlanta can also be pretty horrific as well.

On yesterday's 20, we were already running about 2 hours late, then stopped outside of Alexandria for 20 minutes to upgrade the engine's PTC software. That was a new one.

Probably not caused by NS, though.

Outside ALX? Sounds like a need to add in the CSX protocol for going from ALX to the 1st street tunnel ?

Yeah, I'm not sure. It was bizarre that it needed to be done then and couldn't be done in 30 minutes when they disconnected the engines at WAS. But, there's probably something I don't know about why it was done there.

ALX is prior to the arrival at WAS. The system need to adjust so it can enter the CSX territory. Doing so AFTER you cut the engines off defeats the purpose.
