We will be leaving on our last big cross-country AGR zone redemption trip in a few days. 11 days, coast-to-coast and then some, 7,475 miles and 8 nights all in deluxe bedrooms.
Our trip includes #14 LAX-SLM and #11 SLM-LAX during the first week of May. A big part of that was to increase our odds of having atleast 1 train with a PPC (Pacific Parlour Car) -- of course hopefully two (one each way)
Coming on the Texas Eagle yesterday (4/24/16), I saw PPC #39973 Santa Lucia Highlands sitting out in the Chicago Yards. NOT what I wanted to see!! Hopefully it's coming back from Beech Grove and will be heading back out to LAX soon.
Have you CA, OR, and WA folks been seeing them on a daily basis recently?
