CZ 5 27th September 2015 Chi to Emy trip report of sorts!

Wanted to do a live report but may not have signal all the way.

After a mad few days exploring Chicago we are now in the Metropolitan Lounge waiting to board. Had a fantastic breakfast at Lou Mitchells ☺

So excited, we have a roomette no 2, on the digital display it says on time so thats good so far.

Well we are all aboard and we have moved about 200 yards and stopped, problems with the lead engine.

Have dinner reservations for 6.45pm, roomette nice and SCA friendly :-D

Roomette 2 is my personal favorite; it's the one closest to the bathroom! Have a great trip!

Had a lovely meal last night, had the healthy option chicken and Strawberry cheesecake and my husband had steak and cheesecake, saw a beautiful sunset and had a good nights sleep, roomette cosy.

Very busy dining car at breakfast so a bit of a wait, Railroad French toast delicious, service has been excellent so far and some lovely dining companions.

We are around an hour and a half late I think, pulled into Denver at 8.15am, glad to get out and get some fresh air, wanted some lozenges as have remnants of a cold and the air con not helping. Found some in the back of a book shop called Tattered Cover which very helpfully has some medicines at the back.

There were some furry creatures on the grass near a road on the way into Denver, could not get a photo as was eating breakfast, anyone know what they were?

Lunch was ok, lovely people again, had the veggie burger, only Icecream offered for dessert so skipped it as have some Garrats popcorn that needs finishing :giggle: there has been no specials the whole trip, the air con is very good but deceptive, got out at grand junction and heat hit us! Bought a mug and t'shirt from Dave's Depot

Probably prairie dogs if they were small. Larger animals might be coyotes.
