CZ in Sept

Thinking of taking the CZ from Chi to Sac in late Sept. and was wondering if the Omaha reroute due to flooding would be over by that time and the schedule would possibly be more on time. Any thoughts?

We certainly hope so :excl: , several of us are riding the West Coast Trains, including the CZ, to the Coast for the Gathering in SEA the first week in OCT. Most of the posts Ive read (and heard about on other sites) say that the flooding Should be gone by Septemember, the RailRoads are doing a good job of fixing the tracks and bridges affected, long as it doesnt continue to Rain the Trains should be Back on Track as they say!

I will be able to give first hand report on that Omaha problem soon. Our trip west on the CZ leaves to Reno in two weeks on the 4th of sept then returns in a few days. I will try my best to make a trip report so watch for that around the 13th. I read someplace they said they were going to have everything back and in good shape by the 9th of sept...time will tell.
