December 31 is deadline for earning points for select plus?

My dad and I have a round trip on the Coast starlight in a roomette in each direction. The total fare was 908. I have not picked up the ticket,b but I made sure my name was first in the reservation this time. I suspect I will get about 1000 points for this, which leaves me short by 2160 points. So I'm thinking I need to make another trip before the end of the year that includes a ride on the Acela. Im thinking a trip on 30 to Washington, an Acela to Boston, and 449 back to Chicago. Of course I would go in the sleepers on the overnight trains. That plus the Acela should put me into select plus!! And for icing on the cake, Roz wants to take the train to STL for new years.

I will be seriously mad if I do not make select plus this year.

Yes, the deadline is December 31. But you said that you "haven't picket up your tickets yet". When is that trip? :huh:

If it's on or after January 1, even if you pick up the tickets, they will not post until after the trip is taken! If the trip is on say January 10, it will count for 2010 - even if you pick up the tickets in 2009!
