December trip on Silver Star: Viewliner 2?

I booked a trip on The Star (91) for December about two months ago. I will be in Car 9110. Will that be a Viewliner 2?

December is far far away. Who knows what will happen by then. If it was today 9110 is usually a Viewliner II.

If the consist stays consistent with the current combined Star/Meteor - yes. The even numbered cars have recently always been VLII’s - but keep reading this forum as you get closer to departure time…

But before the Star/Meteor merger, when the Star was a 2-sleeper train, 9110 was a VL I & 9111 was the VL II. They may return to that arrangement when the Meteor is resumed, or they may not. It's anyone's guess at this point.

correct. How sleepers are assigned is too variable and even the number of then on each train may change with seasons or passenger demand if Amtrak can get its inventory assignments more in tune with actual demands.
