I've tried to read up on this , but I'm still confused. If I use my AGR points (20,000 after I buy some ) for a roomette on the CHI/SAC leg of my trip, will I also have to pay rail fare for my husband and me? The roomette is $541.00. Thank you.

NO. The award covers it all.

When you redeem an award for a roomette, it includes railfare & accommodation charge for two people. The accommodation charge also includes your meals on the train and access to the first class lounge from your departing and arriving stations if they have lounges.

If you redeem a sleeper award for 1 person, it includes the room AND the rail fare for 1 person AND all meals in the diner for 1 person!
