Earning Question

If I read correctly, two of us in a roomette we both earn the rail mileage but only the first listed passanger gets the mileage bonus. Correct?

The way it works is that both passengers earn points for the "rail fare" they paid, but the first passenger listed is the only one to earn points for the "accommodation charge".

That's the default, but an Amtrak agent can manually designate a different passenger at the time of booking to get the points for the accom charge (not every agent will have a clue how to do this - might need a supervisor). In practice, it is much easier to go by the "first passenger" rule.
