I was wondering if there were any stats regarding the number of times eastbound Capitol Limted Passengers have been bused from PGH to WAS due to late trains and the tunnel construction? Has Amtrak met its goal of keeping #30 close to on-time? Anecdotal evidence (seeing the train in HFY or WAS near the scheduled time) suggests that this busing has not happened often, but I am wondering if there is a more official count? Thanks.

Don't know offhand, but it has been no more than five or six times since the start of the project last summer.

I am planning a trip that will have on leg on the Capitol Limited, and I get the service alert message on the west bound 29 Capitol Limited, but the message only talks about the 30 eastbound. Can I assume that this does not effect the 29 and only he 30?

Between the extra schedule padding and an actual sense of urgency by Amtrak and CSX to get the train out on time (no long holds for delayed connections) and keep it on time, the CL has had great OTP into WAS.

You can see the difference by looking at the days that the work window is not in effect--more departure delays out of CHI.

I'm scheduled on 30 CHI-WAS on Monday 4/2/12....is there a set maintenance schedule for this work, or is it luck of the draw?
The work is Sunday through Thursday (Saturday through Wednesday out of Chicago).

Hmmm...hopefully they will stay on time.....looks like they are OK unless a couple hours late at CLE according to the service disruption page....

I've been checking CL OTP over the last few weeks and have only seen one instance of bustitution from PGH to WAS - on March 20th.
