I am 54 years old and looking for a second career. I applied for a conductor position and took the culture test. Does anyone know how the process goes from here and what are my chances?? Thanks

They review the applications by the culture fit test now. I was told at a testing session that they get thousands of applications for the job they post. They now eliminate people through the test to hundreds, and the people that are selected to test get an email. They then issue the test etc. Keep in mind that until you have enough seniority to hold a job you would work on call 24 hours a day for 6 days a week. When your turn comes up on the extra board you get called to work. But you would be vested in RR Retirement after 5 years. Right now to get a full pension it's 30 years of service after age 60. But if you really want to work for Amtrak, keep applying.
