This is the second half of my voucher redemption.

It looks like the identical consist from yesterday. Same engines for sure. 96 and 77. I'm in the 533 car on the lower level. I am on right side this trip. I was on right side going out. So I'll will have the best of both worlds. Rita, the sca recognized me from my many visits to the railfan window on outbound trip. It will be fun visiting Gwendolyn on the diner. Yesterday she told me she enjoyed serving me and hoped to see me soon. I said, "you will. Sooner than you think!"

Breakfast is currently not served aboard 6 departing emy. I enjoyed a nice breakfast at my hotel so this was no big deal for me.

We departed emy 3 minutes late.

Nice pics Steve!

And boy that Breakfast @ the Hilton sure looks better than the sad examples that Amtrak is now putting out thanks to the Bean Counters "cuts" and Boardman's Moronic promise to the Mica Managers just down the Street from 60 Mass!

The zephyr has run on time or early for the entire trip. UP has done an excellent job of dispatching. Iirc, one meet east of Reno. A wb freight rolled through grand junction as we sat on the station track. Only potential issue would be the fire up in the canyons east of Glenwood springs.

An update: we took a 6 hour delay east of Glenwood spring because of a rock slide. (See report on main forum). We made up 45 minutes into Denver. Left at 12:17, 5 hours 7 late. We just departed holdredge 6 hours late.

Arrived Chicago at 8:30 pm. We might have made it by 8 but we got caught in freight traffic. The diner served the dinty more stew to all of the passengers. I skipped this in favor of pizza that I ordered from my favorite delivery place.

#6 was six hours and five minutes late out of Ottumwa, Iowa yesterday. It met a BNSF coal train on the east side of Ottumwa that had been told to wait for Amtrak arrive and then leave the station.

I was looking for you nearly agency. I was in the last sleeper at the rail fan window. It is cool watching a train go by that I was on. From your vantage point I saw my room too. I was in 12 in the 633 car.
