Just booked our Eurostar ticket for September. I could not find anywhere if we are on the new Siemens train or the old TGV derived version. I thought about using the seat selection map to see if there were any clues but the number of cars shown does not correlate to either train. Anyone have any idea on how to figure this out without showing up on the platform?

Hi,

I can't answer your question, but I may know a man who can...

I suggest you ask again on http://www.railforums.co.uk They have an international section which includes eurostar, etc.

(Also includes a topic post on the recent Amtrak crash).

You may have to register to post, but it is just an email address and a password. Lots of knowledge and expertise from all over Europe.

Hope you enjoy your Eurostar trip.

I wasn't aware that they had started using the new trains. I think they're still all using the old ones.

Edit: yup the new e320 Velaro EuroStar trains will not enter service until the end of this year. So you will be riding on the older ones.

Thanks Ed! Yes this will be my second time on Eurostar, but first time from St Pancras and HS1. I rode it back in the Waterloo days.
