Examining "service disruption"

How can one find out more details about a train when it is stopped and described as "service disruption"? I sometimes track the location of various trains on the Amtrak/VIA Real Time map. The Sunset Limited (Train 1 and Train 2) happens to be my favorite. These last two days have shown trains 1 and 2 starting, but then disappearing from the location map. The only indication as to what happened to them is the ominous "service disruption." Did they derail? Was there a flood? Did the passengers have to bus? If there's a physical problem with that route they should let us know before buying tickets.

Sometimes Amtrak makes announcements. Sometimes a news outlet publishes a story. It all depends. It's probably best to just ask here on this forum. Somebody can usually find the answer and present it here.

Also, you can check https://asm.transitdocs.com/ which maps the trains along with their speed and usually provides better info than the Amtrak map. Train Orders is also a very good source of info. The images and vids are behind a pay wall but the postings are open to all.

All I tell you is that 19(7) is not showing Service Disruption south of BHM and is showing arrival and departure times on the Status inquiry and the app.
