I'm an ex- Milwaukee Road employee (Milwaukee Diesel House) where my dad was a foreman. My wife and I rode the Zephyr in 2010 from Sacvramento to Chicago in a roomette. In April we'll take the Coast Starlight (coach) to Seattle and two days later ride bedroom E on the Builder to Milwaukee. First time trying coach for the experience as well as a bedroon on the Builder.
I was lucky enough to ride the head end of a Hiawatha Milwaukee to Chicago back in the 60's. Unforgettable experience at over a 100 mph. Also rode with my wife alone in a business car from Louisville to Milwaukee in the 60's. Once in a lifetime experience.....
