never riden a train befor, looks jsut wonderful but I am concerned about train protocal. Is there a standard list of do's & don't I should review before looking foolish?

Don't pull the emergency brake! (Unless there's a real emergency . . .)

I remember an episode of "I Love Lucy" in which she pulls the brake several times during a train trip. At one point after Lucy has pulled the brake, the exasperated conductor says, "I just won a bet with the engineer."
