Well one day after the 28 mile Green Line opened just a few miles to the east, the Fort Worth City Council turns down phase 3 of a study to bring streetcars Fort Worth. I'm really bummed about this, especially when the funding was already in place for this and no general taxpayer funding from the city would be needed to complete this project.

And a great blog entry by Fortworthology. This guy is a member of AU even. He just doesn't post very much.

At first I was excited about the streetcar idea but now I'm not sure sure about the benifits it would have.

I think the SW2NE project is much more important and I would like to see Fort Wort get some money for that. My main worry now is that since they turned down the streetcar car money they won't get the money for the other project.

BTW SW2NE is a plan to run a heavy rail commuter train from SouthWest Tarrant county, past TCU, through downtown and on to DFW Airport.
