Just found on youtube a video of old tunnel for privately owned streetcar. Search "cowtown underground tunnel" on YouTube runs a little over 5 minutes.

I believe it was a legit rapid transit, not a streetcar that was underground.

It appears in at least one movie I know of, the 1980 TV-movie The Lathe of Heaven, which used the Dallas-Ft. Worth area to stand in for early 21st-century Portland, Oregon.

I love how the guy in that video is breathlessly talking as though they are exploring some piece of ancient, long-forgotten history, when
in reality this system ran until 2002. It shouldn't be mistaken for a proper mass transit line. At 0.7 miles in length, it's less than one-third
the distance of, for example, the O'Hare airport people mover. Shame it's gone...but it was little more than a one-off oddity.

It was a streetcar line that connected a department store with a parking lot. Interesting, but just an oddity.
