The maker of the Amtrak Genesis locomotive is selling the division to Wabtec. Whatever replaces the Genesis, it will not be a GE locomotive.
Will be interesting to watch how Wabtec continues GE dominance in the locomotive arena with the tier 4 motor situation (some freight companies are rebuilding older locomotives than buy new with tier 4 motors). GE locomotives rise to dominance was also based on GE Financial under writing some of the deals.
