Google's home page today celebrates the 120th birthday of "The father of industrial design". He was noted among railfans as being on a retainer from the PRR, and took part in the design of the GG-1 streamlined electric locomotive, the streamlined K4s's steam locomotves and others, and for designing the much acclaimed 1938 edition of the Broadway Limited. He even designed the trash container's used in New York's Penn Station.

He designed streamlined pencil sharpener's, various Greyhound/General Motor's buses, including the famous 'Scenicruiser'. He designed vacuum cleaner's, refridgerator's, and the first post-war American automobile--the 1947 Studebaker. He also designed their later day Avanti.

He designed the color scheme of Air Force One, still in use on the newest versions. He also syled spacecraft for NASA.

He also designed diverse items like Coca-Cola fountains and dispenser's, and Lucky Strike cigarette packages.

I just spotted that too and I was going to start a thread on it but I see you got there before me. Google updates their Doodles on Eastern Time so it must have been that since 9:00 PM here, right now it's 10:40 PM.

They did a great doodle, it really looks like a S1!
