oh, I didn't see that - there was some note about how they were focusing on EB stations first =)

thanks, it's a pretty cool site and endorsed by the new amtrak ceo.
I'd hope it was endorsed by the new Amtrak CEO. Take a look at the WHOIS information:

the password is... "astroturf"

EDIT: I missed Anthony's subtitle. He did label it as an official site. Even so, the site doesn't terribly hint that it is an official Amtrak site. I certainly didn't know until I looked up the registration info.

Transparancy is a good thing.

Oh, yeah ... it is an official Amtrak site, for sure. :)

Remember the Great American Stations whistle stop tour?

This is a nice web page. It looks like the used the same web designer as amtrak.com, or at least tried to mimic its style. Looking forward to seeing more updates...

Sorry, that was supposed to me my post...forgot the log in :p

I hope they add Ohio and the Cincinnati train station!
As I understand it, they will be adding stations by route and will include information on all stations - owned, leased, borrowed, etc. Hopefully some of the municipalities along some of the routes may get some ideas when they see what other cities have done with a combination of Federal funds, state and local funds and fundraising.

I haven't been to that many different stations but of the ones I have used, the CIN station is by far the most beautiful I have seen. That whole building is a work of art, literally.
