An early, 100 plus year old gateway at the intersection of north and south, and the entrance to Millennium Park is coming down.

This station building was once sought by the Smithsonian, to be preserved as an historical exhibit piece, when it was previously considered for replacement over a decade ago.

Looking at those photos, it's a wonder that thing is even considered safe to use currently. (Yes, I know, I'm not a structural

engineer...I'm sure it's inspected, etc)

You should've seen the old Roosevelt Rd. Metra Electric station before it was finally replaced. It looked like something Indiana Jones would run across as it collapsed in the climactic scene of the movie. ;-)
