If trip was paid in cash can an extra room be added using points?

I booked an auto train trip by my hubby and me and paid cash during the sale. We now need to add our daughter to the trip and a roomette for that day is $652.Yikes. Would they let the add-on be in points?

If the reservation for your daughter (in another roomette) was a separate reservation that was linked to your automobile, I think you could use points. Have you phoned the AGR Amtrak number?

I have not called yet. I was wondering if anyone knew what to expect.
