Our records indicate that you are scheduled to depart on Amtrak Train number 0019 from Atlanta-GEORGIA at 8:38AM on <deleted>

Amtrak has an important message for our passengers departing Battle Creek after August 2, 2011. The current station will undergo a renovation for the next nine months. During this time, Amtrak will use a temporary station located at 124 South McCamly St. The new location is directly across the street from the current station. Please arrive early for ticketing and agent assistance. Parking is very limited.

Thank goodness they warned me an urgent email about the Battle Creek station issue. After all, Battle Creek is near Atlanta (if you never learned Geography). I was planning to park my car in Battle Creek to take the train from Atlanta. :D :giggle:

Medical marijuana works wonders on the mind.

 WTF??? Sounds like a trip that the_traveler would book, KIN-CHI-Battle Creek-DET-TOL-WAS-ATL-NOL-CHI-WAS-KIN!!! Computers going crazy from the Heat!

What!? What Battle Creek are they talking about? There is only one Battle Creek that has Amtrak service, the one here in Michigan, that is served by the Blue Water and the Wolverine.

I think that's the Battle Creek that they're talking about...haha

Maybe during the Civil War, there was a BATTLE near ATL that was near a CREEK in GA!

Thus Battle Creek, GA!

Jim,

As I was reading the original post, the same thought crossed my mind!!

Who else but our the-traveler would be impacted by that message!!

Go Dave!!

There's more. This is what Amtrak said about our trip from NOL to ATL:

Our records indicate that you are scheduled to depart on Amtrak Train number 0020 from New-Orleans-LOUISIANA at 7:00AM on<deleted>

The parking lot in front of the main station entrance on Peachtree Street is closed due to required maintenance. Please arrive 90 minutes early. Short-term parking is available for passenger drop off and pick up only, across the street at the Masonic Temple. Long-term parking is available ½ block away at the Super 8 Motel, 1641 Peachtree Street. Call 404-873-5731 for rates.

Well, Peachtree Street is where the station is in Atlanta so why would we have to arrive at the NOL station 90 minutes early due to road work on Peachtree Street?

They haven't stopped smoking the medical marijuana.
