Lots of impact on passenger trains and facilities including tremendous enhancement in onboard and at stations catering services - Amtrak to note.

Incidentally, my cousin in law was one of the lead prepares of this tome as the Railway Board member in charge of finance.

Perhaps when you retire you can become a Consultant to IRR since you have "connections" and this way your travel expenses for trips home to. India would be covered!

Among other things, one minor announcement that made me very happy, and might be of use to members of this forum is- finally Indian Railways will allow booking tickets online using foreign credit cards! Phew!

I have spent many hours going through many hoops to get myself an Indian bank account to be able to book train tickets from here in the US using bank transfer for payments, and have become the de-facto travel agent for friends and relatives who want to travel to India and need tickets booked. Time for that to go away.
