Indian Railways and Talgo to test Higher Speed Train in India

Talgo is providing a train set to establish feasibility of 200kph (125mph) operation on trunk routes in India, potentially halving travel time between Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai on the so called Golden Quadrilateral routes.

If this project succeeds, suddenly India will have many more kms of 125mph higher speed routes than the US within a decade or so!

From the videos floating around on Youtube, the coaches being used for trial runs look very identical to the Amtrak Cascades rolling stock, and the low height coaches running with full height conventional locomotives looks equally funny in both places.
