Interesting item on new UK trains... They will run at 125mph on existing track.

"Assembled" in Britain, I wonder how many thousand jobs they created in Japan... Only 750 in the UK...

It probably wouldn't be good if the new Hitachi becomes the 747 of the rails. The 747 is only produced in small numbers now and has been mostly eclipsed by newer designs. I'd say the InterCity 125 was the 747 of the rails. This Hitachi could be the 777 or A350 of the rails.

I hope FGW will keep those old trains for a while yet.
