Is this an Amtrak engine?

This was the engine pulling our 422 Texas Eagle leaving Los Angeles on Wednesday 23 February 2022. Is it Amtrak and if it is why not blue?

Have to write it was very striking, or another way of putting it... you couldn't miss it.

Personally I think the See Tracks Think Train is an incredibly dumb slogan, but I'm also from a generation that really isn't that smart either so maybe the simplicity is good for them.

Yes, it is in an "Operation Lifesaver" wrap. Operation Lifesaver encourages people not to try to beat trains to grade crossings and thereby not getting squashed like bugs.

Yes it's not the best, has four words when all slogans should be three to be effective so I'm told. I believe slogans don't have to be smart, just effective.

They are a group that advocates and tries to educate people about grade crossing safety and railroad safety more broadly.

Well, not to be a contrarian, but . . . I think it’s a great slogan for its intended message. And the graphic on the front of the loco nails it. My guess is the folks behind this probably focus-grouped a bunch of ideas and this one won.

I've caught it, except before it was in this livery. It was number 2 for my CS back in October of 2020.

Also, if you ever want to see a video of your train from the outside, I'm sure there are many due to the fact that this engine was leading.

I think the scheme looks very smart on that engine.

Reminds me of British trains with their yellow front ends.

The slogan has been used in Britain too, with “track” singular. In the “earbud and text message” era, it’s worth repeating.
