On the You Tube La Plata railcam I scrolled over a link to a video of the inside of the LaPlata station and there was a ticket window and what looked to be a rather current in-use office area behind the window.

Of course I don't know when the video was taken, but would anyone know if at one time Amtrak had a ticket agent posted at La Plata, or if the ticket window would have been in use only before Amtrak?

And in the pre-Amtrak days, would La Plata have been rather busy stop for Santa Fe trains?

Doing a little research into La Plata on both older Amtrak ( http://www.timetables.org ) and Santa Fe Passengers Time Tables. It looks like it was staffed until sometime in late 1982- early 1983.
From 1937 to 1971 time frame most of the intercity Santa Fe trains stopped in LaPlata with the exception of the Super Chief in the earlier years.
As a side, Marceline was also a stop and at one point and a crew change point.
