Last winter my wife and I travelled from Hudson, NY to Los Angeles, our first "big" Amtrak trip.

We wrote a blog on the trip for friends and family. Thought a few here might be interested in our trip.

We are leaving on another westbound trip in two weeks, this time via the California Zephyr, returning on the Super Chief.

Thanks for this! I'm taking the same trip in June, though starting from the LSL's origin at NY Penn Station and not staying overnight in Chicago (Have been many, many times, including staying at the Palmer House and visiting the Art Institute and Field Museum). I even have the same accommodations - roomette on the LSL, bedroom on the SWC.
