Hey, got a question:

Does the Business Class section of a Northeast Regional train have the same legroom between seats as an Amfleet II coach on some of the East Coast LD trains? Or does NER BC have more?

I'm planning a trip to Orlando, FL in July and I'll be taking the train round trip if I go by myself. Or I'll just take the train on the return trip from ORL. The return will be on the Silver Star due to the time of day it arrives in RVR. Still trying to decide between the Star and Meteor for the trip to Orlando (again, if I go by myself).

I'm still weighing out my accommodation options. If I choose coach, I'll go coach the entire trip. If I choose a roomette, I'll go in BC on the NER, just to keep things simple. That's one reason why I'm asking whether there's a difference in legroom.

Thanks!

I just got back today (2/26) from a RVR-CHI round trip. I took business class RVR-WAS. The seat pitch in business class is similar to, but not more than, Amfleet II coach. It has the foot rest but no leg rest.

Amfleet 2 has more leg room than full NER BC cars. I don't know about the half BC/ half cafe cars used on some trains.

The half-BC 2-1 seats feel more closely spaced than Amfleet 2 coach, especially with the leg rest extended. Anyone else felt the same way?
