I haven't ridden Metrolink in the LA area in a year or so. It used to cost $20 round trip from San Bernardino to LA on a weekday. It was 25% off for adults on weekends and 50% off for kids. Well the fare went up a bit to about $23 or so and no discounts for weekends and only a 25% discount for kids. BUT, there is a deal on weekends where you can get a pass for four people for $29. The only down side is that there is no using the tickets to ride the Metro and other types of services. But still cheaper yesterday for me to go w/ 2 kids on the $29 deal and pay for the subway than pay about $57 for the regular tickets.
Went to Hollywood to a magic shop, about 100 mile trip one way, and found it CLOSED. But there was another shop two doors down that had a good sized magic section and had the same guy in it that was in the magic shop that has been closed. Fun trip but mostly an excuse to take the kids on the Metrolink and subway. They enjoyed both.
