Proposed FY14-FY15 budget

The FY 15 Proposed Budget highlights include:

Included in this years budget are costs of $8.6 million associated with operating Positive Train Control. These costs include additional costs related to maintenance vendors and additional system utilities, licenses, warranties and technical support. These costs are ongoing and will be incorporated into future budgets.

FY 15 assumes the addition of 2 peak time trains, and the reduction of 4 off-peak trains on the Orange County Line.

The addition of 4 new weekday trips on the 91 Line, and 8 new weekend trips on the 91 Line are included.

Cost Savings have been obtained by the reduction of 6 redundant trains on the San Bernardino Line.
For the OC Line, the reduction is from the fairly useless and unpopulated Fullerton-Laguna trains with a Los Angeles-Laguna Niguel round trip replacing them. Personally though I'd rather have an off peak LA-Laguna frequency rather than another peak one, Metrolink is way too focused on 9-5 Los Angeles bound commuters, to its detriment.
