On way home from SAC after a great visit to the State Railroad Museum. Wonderful collection!
In sleeper 1432 #32030 an ancient unrefurbished car. Power issues in my roomette and many of us had no power on the plugs. After many resets the SCA Oscar, just gave up. He had at least 4 folks using either CPAP and one lady was using a massive oxygen machine in bedroom D.
I use a CPAP because of sleep apnea and didn't get to use it... needless to say I am cranky after very bad night trying to sleep. I also have no heat control in my roomette so bundled up with sweatshirt and blankets.
And last but not least, we have NO Parlour Car... a CCC was subbed at the last moment...rumor is due to AC issue.
Needless to say, this has not been my best CS trip;
On the bright side, great OBS crew, excellent dining experience this morning with Monika, a 9 year veteran originally from Czechoslovokia.
Lots of fresh snow in the cascades and the view of Klamath Lake with sun and white clouds was magnificent.
All in all, good thing I am patient and know that flexability while traveling on the train is a must... so relaxing and enjoying the scenery right now.
Regards,
Jim
