New forum member, long-time passenger from California

I've mostly ridden regularly-scheduled Amtrak trains as a passenger in private cars since 1987. Still, I've ridden as an Amtrak passenger, too, on the Coast Starlight, from Los Angeles to San Diego and from Bakersfield north in the Central Valley in California. I'm also a long-time model railroader and a railroad history buff.
