Starting Monday, 9/14/2015, there seems to be a new train from Oakland (OAC) to Sacramento (SAC) - on Mondays only. It departs OAC at 1155P and gets to SAC at 209A.

Anybody know what this train is? It doesn't seem to be in the published schedules. Why only on Monday? What about going the other direction?

Thanks,

jb

It is an extra train to support a footbal game in the area on the 14th.. As such, a train is not needed in the other direction.

Wonder why this extra train was not attached to a regular train unless there was not equipment available until that time. Will require an extra conductor and engineer unless extra crew also needed there.

If this train will have "Raider Nation" fans riding, they will probably need lots of cops to handle this bunch!

Hoqever, the ones we ran into on the Train last October @ the Gathering were already rowdy and fueled up @10am, and had to be removed from our reserved car when we rode from EMY-San Jose on a Raider game day!

The neat thing is that our Conductor was a female, but between her and one of our members (Penny), they were hurded out and left meekly when told to do so by these two petite women! LOL

Oh, so its a 49ers game! They'll all be asleep on the way back, after eating their Sushi and sipping their specialty tea, so no problema!

Are the 49ers still in the League? LOL

Jim, it was in the afternoon after the game when we were on our way back to EMY.

It leaves too late so it is an extra train with an extra crew.

49ers are playing Seattle tonight at Levis Stadium, which is right at Great America station. Caltrain has two specials going north after the game, to San Francisco. Regular service (or light rail) takes care of people heading south.
